Dhawan played his first-class cricket for Delhi in 2004 and was the leading run-scorer in the 2004 ICC Under-19 World Cup, where he scored 505 runs from 7 matches with three hundreds. He was also the leading run-scorer in the EurAsia Cricket Series in 2006.

He made his debut for India against Australia in 2010 and had an excellent performance. He was the first player in IPL history to score two back-to-back centuries. He was awarded the ‘Player of the Tournament’ in the 2013 Champions Trophy. He was a member of the Indian team that won the 2015 World Cup and the 2017 Champions Trophy.

Jonny Bairstow

The Punjab Kings have been dealt a major blow after it was announced that England star Jonny Bairstow won’t be part of their squad for the upcoming IPL 2023. The swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batsman has been suffering from an injury that’s kept him out of action for months now.

He’s still recovering from an ankle fracture suffered while playing golf in Yorkshire last September, which kept him out of England’s T20 World Cup and Test tours to Pakistan and New Zealand. But with Brendon McCullum now in charge of the Test side, he’s expected to make his comeback as soon as he’s fit.

Having joined the Kings in the IPL 2022 auction, Bairstow was expected to be a vital member of their team this season, alongside Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran. However, it seems that he has been officially ruled out of the tournament after the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) refused to issue him with a No Objection Certificate.

Kagiso Rabada

Born in Gauteng, South Africa on 25 May 1995, Kagiso Rabada is a right-arm fast bowler. He plays all formats of the game and is one of the most dangerous pace bowlers in cricket today.

The 24-year-old is a member of the Punjab Kings and will be a key player in their IPL 2023 campaign. He has a lot to offer the team, and he is expected to lead the bowling attack this season.

He was acquired by the Punjab Kings for a sum of Rs 9.25 crore during the IPL 2022 auction. He performed well in IPL 2022, picking up 23 wickets from 13 matches.

The South African will be a crucial member of the PBKS squad and he should be able to replicate his performances in IPL 2023. He is a devastating bowler and will be a major weapon for any team in the competition.

Liam Livingstone

A member of the Punjab Kings, Liam Livingstone is a hard-hitting, explosive and talented cricketer. He is a right-handed batter and a spin bowler, who is a valuable asset for his team.

He has not played any competitive cricket since December 2022 after suffering a knee injury during his Test debut in Pakistan. He also suffered an ankle injury during last year’s The Hundred competition.

According to PTI, he is set to miss Punjab’s opening match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Mohali on April 1 as he has yet to get fitness clearance from the ECB. He is expected to arrive in India next week, probably before the second game against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on April 5.

The Punjab Kings are one of the best teams in IPL history after they defeated Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals in their opening two matches. However, the absence of wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow and premier pacer Kagiso Rabada has been a big blow for the Shikhar Dhawan-led side.
